Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the development and delivery of commercial-scale solar PV projects, with a preference for candidates who have experience integrating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The successful candidate will be responsible for producing electrical designs, calculations, and technical documentation from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical layouts for commercial solar PV systems, including DC and AC system architecture.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment schedules.
• Perform electrical calculations such as voltage drop, short-circuit, grounding, and arc-flash studies.
• Support BESS integration, including system configuration, protection schemes, and interconnection (preferred).
• Coordinate with project managers, civil/structural engineers, utilities, AHJs, and EPC partners.
• Review equipment specifications for inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection devices, and energy storage systems.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEC, IEEE, local codes, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Provide technical support during permitting, construction, commissioning, and as-built documentation.
