VP Power Markets

  • $300,000 - $350,000 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-load development and commercial origination, identifying competitive sites, securing utility capacity, and developing commercial relationships with data center, industrial, and electrification customers.
  • Drive site selection and investment strategy, evaluating power markets, load growth, transmission constraints, utility capacity, development costs, customer demand, and project economics to prioritize opportunities.
  • Lead utility and power market engagement, managing relationships around retail service, transmission, interconnection, load studies, tariffs, special contracts, infrastructure costs, and project-enabling agreements.
  • Develop and execute regulatory and policy strategies, engaging with utilities, regulators, ISO/RTOs, policymakers, and other stakeholders to improve project feasibility and mitigate execution risk.
  • Lead cross-functional project execution, partnering with engineering, development, finance, legal, and executive teams to structure commercial agreements, build business cases, and progress projects toward investment and commercial commitments.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in energy markets, power development, data center development, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience with data center and large-load development, including hyperscale requirements, powered land, utility capacity procurement, and large-load interconnection.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. power markets, with experience across multiple markets such as WECC, SPP, ERCOT, PJM, or MISO.
  • Experience working with utilities, regulators, and ISO/RTO processes, including tariffs, rate cases, interconnection, stakeholder proceedings, or state energy policy.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capabilities, with the ability to evaluate project economics, negotiate commercial arrangements, develop investment theses, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.
