Financial Controller

Kinekta are partnered with a growing data center and power generation developer that is looking to expand their team. They are searching for a Financial Controller to lead their accounting function and support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, payables, vendor management, monthly and annual close, consolidations, and internal controls.
• Lead preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring transparency across complex entity structures and equity classes.
• Manage audits with external auditors and ensure strong audit readiness at all times.
• Drive tax compliance and planning across multiple subsidiaries, coordinating with external advisors as needed.
• Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, fostering professional growth and process improvement.
• Partner with leadership to support asset monetization and new development initiatives, providing financial insights to guide strategic decisions.
• Maintain and strengthen policies, systems, and processes to ensure scalability and compliance as the organization evolves.

Requirements

• CPA required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior experience as a controller or senior accounting leader in real estate, private equity, project development, or infrastructure industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, tax, and consolidated financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage audits, and build/maintain a strong audit trail.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
