Works Manager (Contract)

  • North Sea
  • £850 - £900 per day

We're looking for two Works Managers on behalf of our client to support offshore installation works, providing combined installation and works management on a trenching/cable-lay barge spread.

Role overview

As Works Manager, you'll be responsible for the operational execution of works on site, relying on a team of site superintendents and project engineers and reporting directly to the Project Manager. You'll focus on the bigger picture while superintendents handle day-to-day issues. We're looking for an experienced Works Manager who can manage large offshore installation projects, with both a strong engineering and installation background — single point of accountability for HSE, POB and emergency response, directing daily trenching and cable-lay operations against plan.

Your responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly with project engineers, project management and clients.
  • Take responsibility for organising the works, ensuring they're carried out in accordance with the method statement and in a safe way.
  • Accurately monitor project progress.
  • Assist in coordinating work on site, optimising and correcting where necessary.
  • Report on budget and cost control in close collaboration with the Project Manager.

Your profile

  • 7 years of relevant offshore work experience.
  • Strong project management and planning skills.
  • Extensive experience working in high-safety environments.
  • Good communication skills and able to take a critical view towards the works being carried out.
  • Works well in teams, able to support colleagues and lead the workforce in the field.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Offshore Medical Certificate, Chester Step Test, STCW Basic Safety Training.
  • Fluent English required (written and spoken); Dutch is a strong asset. Other languages a plus.

Practicalities

  • Rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off.
  • Location: Offshore wind installation project, North Sea
  • Contract: 01/08/2026 – 30/11/2026
