General Site Manager (Construction Manager) – Offshore
Day Rate up to £850.00 per day OUTSIDE IR35
The General Site Manager (Construction Manager) – Offshore is responsible for ensuring offshore site readiness is achieved in line with the overall programme and company standards. The role leads the safe, coordinated and efficient execution of offshore site management activities, supporting installation and commissioning works delivered by principal contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all offshore site management and construction activities to ensure safe and timely execution.
- Support installation and commissioning operations carried out by Tier 1 contractors.
- Plan and manage offshore site works in accordance with company site management plans, governance frameworks, internal compliance policies, and applicable legislation.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, Life-Saving Rules, behavioural safety principles, and statutory regulations including the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and CDM 2015.
- Develop and implement HSE emergency response planning, including medical preparedness and proactive safety monitoring.
- Advise and report to senior project and package management on site readiness, construction progress, risks, and performance.
- Collaborate with Procurement to support tender development, evaluation, and contract award for site management-related services.
- Support engineering activities to ensure buildability, operational readiness, interface management, and safety by design.
- Develop and manage resource plans and budgets for offshore site management and construction activities.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting while identifying, mitigating, and managing risks and opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Marine Logistics, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant demonstrable experience leading the safe and successful execution of offshore wind or comparable offshore construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of offshore construction contracts and vessel chartering arrangements.
- Comprehensive competence in offshore HSE management and site leadership, including working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and CDM 2015.
