Director / Senior Director – Data Center Development & CCGT Power

Location: United States
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Chief Development Officer / Managing Director

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Development Director / Senior Director to lead the identification, development and delivery of large-scale data center campuses across the United States, with a particular focus on projects supported by dedicated or co-located natural gas-fired generation, including Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking projects from initial market and site identification through land acquisition, power strategy, permitting, utility/interconnection, commercial structuring, development approvals, and ultimately financial close and construction commencement.

This is a highly strategic role requiring an individual who understands the intersection of data center development, power generation, natural gas infrastructure, transmission, utilities, permitting, land, capital and hyperscale customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate strategic locations for hyperscale and AI-focused data center campuses.
  • Lead the development strategy for dedicated power generation supporting data center campuses, including CCGT facilities and associated balance-of-plant infrastructure.
  • Develop integrated data center + power-generation strategies for each target market.
  • Lead the development approval strategy from early feasibility through Ready-to-Build.
  • Develop project business plans, budgets, and development schedules.

Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure, energy, data centers, power generation or a closely related sector.
  • The candidate should have a demonstrated track record of taking complex infrastructure projects from early-stage concept through permitting, commercial structuring, and financial investment decision.

The U.S. data center market is experiencing substantial growth in power demand, with developers increasingly evaluating dedicated generation and other behind-the-meter or co-located power solutions to address grid constraints and accelerate time-to-power.
