Project Engineer

Kinekta is partnering with a well-funded, growth-stage Battery Storage IPP seeking a Project Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution of utility-scale projects from conceptual design through operational readiness, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with project objectives.
• Serve as the technical liaison across internal teams and external partners (utilities, EPCs, OEMs), resolving complex engineering challenges and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
• Oversee design, integration, and implementation of electrical, mechanical, EMS, and SCADA systems, reviewing and approving designs, performance models, and vendor deliverables.
• Contribute to procurement and contract discussions, assessing technical impacts on project economics and supporting scalable processes, templates, and engineering tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1 to 3 years of utility-scale renewable or BESS project engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in power systems, controls, SCADA, EMS, and renewable infrastructure engineering.
• BESS and ERCOT experience preferred, but not a requirement.
