Senior Energy Director

Location: US - Remote with travel

Salary: $150K to $250K + Bonus + Equity

Kinekta are currently partnered with a growing data center developer in the US that focuses on developing carbon neutral data centers. They focus on supporting companies focusing on edge computing, AI and crypto-mining across the US.

They are searching for a Senior Energy Director that will lead the energy strategy of the company for their data centers. This person will be an positioned to be an energy expert on the finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the energy strategy for sourcing power, focusing on sourcing clean power.
• Drive the planning and development of on-site and off-site energy generation assets, including SMRs and renewable energy solutions.
• Monitor and manage energy market risks, including price fluctuations, capacity issues, and availability of resources.
• Develop and implement financial models to evaluate energy procurement strategies and optimize cost efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and policy changes related to energy procurement and sustainability goals.

Requirements:

• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in energy management, procurement, or infrastructure development within the energy or tech sectors, preferably in data center or power generation.
• Experience with power generation and offtake in PJM - SPP or ERCOT is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of energy markets, including renewable energy and nuclear power.
• Expertise in regulatory compliance and navigating energy policy.
• Proficiency in financial modelling, risk management, and cost-benefit analysis.
